About the role
We’re hiring a mid-level Java Developer to own meaningful chunks of our backend platform.
You’re past the “learning the basics” stage and ready for more autonomy — designing and shipping production services, mentoring juniors, and influencing technical decisions.
What you'll do
- Design and ship production backend services with real ownership
- Own features end to end — from design through deployment and monitoring
- Mentor junior engineers and raise the bar in code review
- Influence technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and standards
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability of the systems you own
- Collaborate with clients and product partners to scope and deliver work
What we're looking for
Must have
- 3–6 years of professional Java development
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and building production REST APIs
- Solid grasp of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling
- Experience deploying and operating services in the cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- A track record of shipping and owning features in production
- Good judgment about trade-offs — speed vs. correctness vs. maintainability
Nice to have
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to regulated industries (fintech, healthcare)
- Experience mentoring or leading small workstreams
