About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Java Developer to lead technical direction for major platform components.
You’ll architect systems, set engineering standards, mentor the team — and still ship production code yourself. Senior engineers here stay in the code.
What you'll do
- Lead the architecture and delivery of major platform components
- Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, and operations
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and grow the team’s capability
- Make and document high-impact technical decisions and trade-offs
- Write production code — you stay hands-on, not just in diagrams
- Partner with clients and leadership on technical strategy and scoping
What we're looking for
Must have
- 7+ years of professional Java engineering with a strong production track record
- Deep experience designing distributed systems and backend architecture
- Expert command of Spring Boot, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms
- Demonstrated technical leadership — standards, mentoring, decisions
- Ability to balance hands-on delivery with architectural ownership
- Excellent communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated industries (fintech, healthcare, government)
- Background with high-scale, high-reliability systems
- Public technical writing, talks, or open-source contributions
- Experience setting up platform/developer-productivity tooling
