About the role
We’re hiring an Oracle Developer to own the data layer of our platforms.
Schema design, PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and the deep work that separates a database that scales from one that doesn’t. This is a heavy lift on Oracle internals for someone who genuinely enjoys the data layer.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve database schemas for performance and integrity
- Build and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, and complex queries
- Diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks — execution plans, indexing, partitioning
- Own data migrations, ETL, and integration with application services
- Partner with backend engineers on the data access layer
- Set standards for data quality, backups, and recovery
What we're looking for
Must have
- 5–10 years working with Oracle databases in production
- Expert PL/SQL development and SQL performance tuning
- Strong schema design and data modeling skills
- Experience diagnosing performance issues with execution plans and indexing
- Understanding of transactions, concurrency, and data integrity
- Experience with data migration and ETL processes
Nice to have
- Experience with other databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with cloud database services
- Exposure to regulated-industry data requirements
- Scripting skills for automation (Python, shell)
